Cutimed Sorbact Hydro | Sterile Antimicrobial Dressing

Previously known as Cutimed® Sorbact® Gel

Cutimed Sorbact Hydro is a non-absorbent bacteria- and fungi-binding wound dressing based on Sorbact Technology. It combines a Sorbact DACC™-coated wound contact layer with a hydrogel containing carbomer and 10% propylene glycol to hydrate the wound and donate moisture to the wound bed.

By maintaining moisture at the wound surface, Cutimed Sorbact Hydro helps facilitate autolytic debridement while supporting the management of wounds where bacteria, fungi and endotoxins may be present.

Suitable for a Range of Wounds

Cutimed Sorbact Hydro is intended for the management of clean, contaminated, colonised or infected wounds, including:

  • Surgical wounds

  • Traumatic wounds

  • Burns

  • Pressure ulcers

  • Diabetic foot ulcers

  • Leg ulcers

For exuding wounds, Cutimed Sorbact Hydro should be used with a suitable moisture-preserving secondary dressing appropriate for the level of exudate, such as a foam dressing, absorbent pad or film dressing.

How to Use

  1. Prepare the wound and surrounding skin according to local clinical practice.

  2. Select an appropriate dressing size.

  3. Remove the dressing from the peel pouch using an aseptic technique.

  4. If the dressing needs to be cut, use an aseptic technique.

  5. Apply the dressing directly to the wound, ensuring contact with the complete wound surface so microorganisms can bind to the dressing. Do not overlap the surrounding skin and avoid dense packing in deep wounds.

  6. Apply an appropriate moisture-preserving secondary dressing based on the level of exudate, then secure in place.

  7. Dressing changes should be based on the amount of exudate and the condition of the wound and surrounding skin. If clinically appropriate, the dressing can remain in place for up to 7 days.

How to Remove

If the dressing adheres to the wound, moisten it before removal. This helps make removal easier and reduces the risk of disrupting the healing wound.

Cutimed Sorbact Hydro should be used according to the product instructions and appropriate wound care guidance from a healthcare professional.
